AIE Co-Hosts Global Game Jam 2019 with Pacific Science Center – Jan 25th – Jan 27th 2019
From January 25th to the 27th 2019, the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (Seattle) will team up with the Pacific Science Center for the third consecutive year in hosting Global Game Jam.
Every year since, well over 200 game developers, from industry veterans to aspiring game developers, come together to create games at the Pacific Science Center. A new theme will be announced for game developers each year on the official Global Game Jam website. All game development teams will use this as their theme for designing their game. Global Game Jam 2018’s theme was Transmission. Keep your eyes peeled for 2019's theme announcement on the official site of Global Game Jam.
Every team will have 48 hours to become acclimated to their teams and complete a game using the provided theme. During the event, the Pacific Science Center will remain open during normal business hours, giving game developers the unique opportunity to recruit museum attendees as their beta testers during the day. Coffee is complimentary, and jammers are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring their sleeping bags. When the time is up, each team will join their hosts to pitch their game at the IMAX theater.
