Industry Veterans Help Our Students

Our Lafayette Campus has recently been packed to the brim with new, exciting guests!

On Tuesday, March 28, 2017, Beau Perschall, VP of Development at Turbosquid, took up residence in one of our main offices to provide a one-on-one portfolio review with our second-year students.  His goal was to give our students the professional review and criticism that they needed, and talked about how to integrate into the industry after graduation.

Beau’s biggest piece of advice to artists is that they should “use all the references they can,” he also told numerous students. “Young artists always think they’re cheating by looking at references, but do it anyway.”

King Crow Studio’s Cody Louviere also graced our campus with his wise words to our students on Wednesday, March 29! King Crow Studios is an indie game development company straight out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who are trying to make it in the games industry. Cody is currently producing two titles, Necroball and Quest of Souls (which both feature his corgi, Toki!). He spoke very vigorously about his experiences in the industry, networking, do’s and don’ts, and a little bit about each of his projects.
